We are bookending your week, every week with a couple of podcast episodes that we hope can provide insights on how to be a better marketer, sales pro, or operator in your B2B company.
It’s a right of passage in marketing to start sharing while the product team is ideating.
If marketing is an active listener internally then we can begin to tell stories that help set the stage for where our product is headed. It’s how we build momentum, excitement, and gather feedback on a product before it’s released.
I was talking to Chris Vannoy last week and he dropped a quote that shifted my perspective on everything:
“If we wait six months to ship something we’re dead. We need to work at a much faster motor than that which is also difficult from a marketer perspective because we’re going to move faster than you can communicate externally…we’re going to have to have stuff deployed that you may not talk about for another couple of months.”
This nugget stopped me in my tracks.
Done is better than perfect. Not every launch needs to be a perfectly orchestrated launch.
There’s something powerful about giving your customers access to what’s new and finding opportunities to communicate about it down the road.
It’s a big week for the product at The Juice.
Chris made his Modern Day Marketer debut in an episode that we dropped earlier this week.
Also, he hosted our first Product Roadmap Live on Thursday and we kicked off the hype train to Smarter Distribution for brands. If you want to know more about these events in the future make sure you subscribe to Modern Day Marketer.

We’ve been running this show for nearly 2 years. We’ve explored modern approaches to almost every marketing discipline imaginable except one. There was a glaring gap in Modern Day Marketer content. We hadn’t discussed modern approaches to PR…until today.
There’s so many common misconceptions when it comes to implementing PR into your marketing strategy. PR has evolved. It’s more than just putting out a press release. That’s why I needed to bring someone on the show who was not only deep in the weeds on what works in today’s PR game, but also has industry specific knowledge.
In today’s episode I’m joined by Lindsey Groepper who is the President of BLASTmedia, a B2B SaaS PR Agency. With 18 years of experience at BLASTmedia, Lindsey has a unique perspective on how the PR and media landscape has evolved. In our conversation, Lindsey shares her insights on modern-day PR practices, the kinds of companies that would benefit the most from hiring a PR agency, and more.
In this episode we cover:
- Tech PR over the years: How the focus and strategy has shifted over the last decade
- Content Marketing: Defining the relationship between your content and PR and opportunities for impact
- Changing media landscape: How media has involved and what to consider when getting started on a PR strategy in 2023
